well it may not be your physical heart
The body is an incredible thing! It is so amazing that we only know what 2% of our DNA actually does. This blog today will show you just what we mean by this, and our topic today is on the heart. Cardiovascular (heart and artery) disease has one of the highest death rates in the world. And many people are getting symptoms daily of heart disease. Statistically more people are taken into emergency rooms after dinner and more on Mondays than any other times. Why could this be? Well because we are not a slab of meat. For too many years we have been thinking of our bodies as this piece of flesh that just exists. But we are not this. Our body consists of our BODY, MIND and SOUL or SPIRIT. It states this in all religions and yet we have forgotten this fact. And more now than ever do we need to acknowledge this and look at our bodies differently and holistically. So lets do this now:
BODY: If this one fails well you ain't gonna do so good! This little system keeps you alive. So some interesting facts about your cardiovascular system......
The circulatory system includes the heart, blood vessels and blood, and is vital for fighting diseases and maintaining homeostasis (proper temperature and pH balance). The system's main function is to transport blood, nutrients, gases and hormones to and from the cells throughout the body.
If you were to lay out all of the arteries, capillaries and veins in one adult, end-to-end, they would stretch about 60,000 miles (100,000 kilometers). What's more, the capillaries, which are the smallest of the blood vessels, would make up about 80 percent of this length.
By comparison, the circumference of the Earth is about 25,000 miles (40,000 km). That means a person's blood vessels could wrap around the planet approximately 2.5 times!
This eerie pulsing occurs because the heart generates its own electrical impulses, which cause it to beat. As long as the heart continues to receive oxygen, it will keep going, even if separated from the rest of the body.
MIND: The end of a relationship really can "break your heart"
A condition called stress cardiomyopathy entails a sudden, temporary weakening of the muscle of the heart (the myocardium). This results in symptoms akin to those of a heart attack, including chest pain, shortness of breath and arm aches.
The condition is also commonly known as "broken heart syndrome" because it can be caused by an emotionally stressful event, such as the death of a loved one or a divorce, breakup or physical separation from a loved one. So this is how your MIND can affect your heart. Think about when you are anxious about something. What are the symptoms you can get in this instance? An anxiety attack is an episode of extreme and excessive worry, discomfort, or fear accompanied by a variety of physical symptoms. Symptoms of an anxiety attack include shortness of breath, heart palpitations, sharp stabbing pain in the middle of the chest, racing heartrate, sweating, shakiness, tingling in the hands.
If you've ever experienced an anxiety attack, you know how scary they can be. It's frightening to feel unable to control your own body and mind. That's why it's important to seek treatment for anxiety attacks, especially if they're interfering with your daily life.
SOUL/SPIRIT: There are two areas that control the heart from a Soul/Spirit point of view. It is the PERICARDIUM meridian and the HEART meridian. The meridians are the energy pathways of the body. They connect all the organs together via energy, as we are all frequency, and all our organs need to be vibrating at a particular frequency for optimum health. So lets look at each one separately including the emotions that can throw them off balance:
PERICARDIUM MERIDIAN: Known as "THE HEART PROTECTOR". The network of the pericardium includes the pericardial sac, the pericardium meridian, the small intestine, and parts of the brain associated with the pericardium channel.
The pericardium protects the heart from emotional trauma, constricts the chest to protect the heart, and helps to express the joy of the heart. The pericardium protects the heart from potential damage caused from the strong fluctuations in energy caused by emotional ups and downs of the day. The pericardium also helps in the regulation of blood circulating in and out of the heart.
The pericardium is the heart opener, as well as the heart protector. It relates to both intimacy and trauma, particularly to family dynamics of adoption, separation, abuse, sexual improprieties, death. If the heart is not protected, love and joy disappear allowing sadness and fear to rise. We lose our spiritual connection and we may experience internal disorder. An unprotected heart may be vulnerable and easily hurt or “heartbroken.” When the Heart Protector is doing its job, it keeps out those things that are harmful and allows those to pass into the heart that are trustworthy, loving, fun, and good for our fire.
HEART MERIDIAN: The heart meridian and organ is known as the Emperor of Sovereign Fire. This name is well deserved as the heart houses the Mind and Soul of each individual. The meridian has sovereign governing influence over the blood, as well as controlling opening of the blood vessels.
Sweating is controlled by the heart meridian as sweat is considered as part of the blood. Vitality of the heart meridian is noted in the complexion of the skin and color, in good memory, in a state within which you are happy to be yourself, in distinct speech, and in normal tissue color and texture of the tip of the tongue.
This organ is linked with joy but the imbalance of joy is expressed as either too much (agitation or restlessness) or too little (depression). Below, are the mental and physical ailments linked with the heart:
Emotions: Lack of enthusiasm and vitality, mental restlessness, depression, insomnia, and despair
Heart function: Regulates the blood circulation and blood vessels; responsible for even and regular pulse and influences vitality and spirit; connected with the tongue, complexion, and arteries
Symptoms of heart imbalance: Insomnia, heart palpitations, irregular heartbeat, excessive dreaming, poor long-term memory, and psychological disorders
Heart conditions
Below you will see where the issues you will feel will come up and you will notice that they both run up the arm from the finger to the heart hence creating issues like the common heart attack.
So as you can see, there are so many causes of symptoms. And when you are treating the body you must look at the BODY, MIND and SOUL/SPIRIT of the body.
In the Islamic view the Heart is given a central role play to maintain physical and spiritual activities of the body. In the holy Quran, different characteristics like wisdom, intelligence, disease, thinking and many others are related to the heart.
In the Christian view the heart is considered the seat of life or strength. Hence, it means mind, soul, spirit, or one's entire emotional nature and understanding.
In Buddhist psychology, mind and heart are often described by one word- “citta.” This heart-mind has many dimensions. It contains and includes all our thoughts, our feelings and emotions, responses, intuition, temperament, and consciousness itself.
According to Hinduism, the heart is the connecting link between the heaven and the earth. It is where you experience the love of God, express your love for him, or enter the dream state or deep sleep state. It is the secret cave in your body where you come face to face with the very secret of your existence. Your heart is also your vulnerable spot, and unless you protect it well you can succumb to negative emotions, and through them, to astral attacks. It is therefore important that you fill your heart with love and positive energy.
